It’s about time…
We’re making it official and celebrating the only way we know how — with a proper Kentucky weekend. Where bourbon ages slow and horses run fast, we figured there was no need to rush it and might as well stay for awhile.
So pack your boots for a fancy western “I do,” your denim for bourbon country, and your boldest race-day flair for Keeneland.
Rings. Races. Love. Bourbon.

Your presence is the only present we expect! Since a few of you asked for gift ideas—and we’re moving—we put together a registry. No pressure at all, unless you’re looking for an excuse to help us fill the new place.

9:00pm- Second shuttle back to the Manchester
10:15pm- Last shuttle to the Manchester for the wild animals ;)

Where
The Polo Barn at Saxony Farm
469 Browns Mill Rd
Rich in history and in soil, Saxony, family owned and operated since 1968, has produced 6
champion Thoroughbred racehorses. The Hundley’s have a hands on approach and place
high emphasis on attention to detail in all aspects of the farm.
Parking & Arrival
Saxony Farms offers ample on-site parking for all guests. Please enter through the main
entrance at 469 Browns Mill Rd, Lexington, KY 40511, where signs will direct you to the
designated guest lot. We recommend arriving a little early to soak in the scenery before the
ceremony begins. If you're riding in with friends or booking a rideshare, drop-off is
available right near the venue entrance for easy access.

The Manchester Hotel
We’ve reserved a room block at The Manchester Hotel in Lexington for our wedding weekend. Please book your room as soon as possible, as it is a boutique hotel and rooms are expected to fill quickly.
If you plan to arrive earlier or extend your stay, feel free to contact Sandra Wolcott (information below). She can assist with alternate dates or help arrange a room with double queen beds if needed. She’ll be happy to help coordinate your stay.

Weather & What to Pack: Early October in the Bluegrass is warm. Expect sunny days in the 80s next week, possibly touching 90°F around Thursday, before a cold front brings rain this weekend (around Oct. 3–4). It cools off for us a bit after that, with highs around 70°F and nights in the 50s. By mid-October, typical highs are in the upper 60s to low 70s and nights can dip into the 40s.
Pack in layers: Something light for sunny afternoons, a jacket or sweater for the evenings, and an umbrella just in case.

Keeneland Here Come The Bridges

Location: Keeneland Race Tracks
Polish up those race-day looks — we’re headed to the iconic Keeneland for tailgating, trackside cheers, and a little friendly betting.
Think mint juleps, lucky picks, and that electric moment when the horses thunder past.
Transportation Timeline:
11:00am- 1st Shuttle Departs for Keeneland Tailgating
12:00pm- Second Shuttle Departs for Keeneland Tailgating on THE HILL
3:30pm- 1st Shuttle back to the Manchester Hotel Tailgating on THE HILL
5:00pm- Last Shuttle to the Manchester
***The shuttle will be black and have “GOLD SHEILDS” on it. It will be parked at the gas station next door to the hotel.

This event is casual and if you decide to sleep in after the wedding it is about a 15 minute Uber (remember this is a huge event and I am sure there will be surge pricing)

We’re heading straight to bourbon country for an afternoon along the legendary Kentucky Bourbon Trail — rolling hills, smooth pours, behind-the-scenes tours, and stories as rich as the barrels themselves.
Sip slow, savor every taste, and save just a little room for one more round.

11-12:45pm - Whiskey Thief for tour/tasting/lunch
1:10-3:00pm - Buffalo trace tasting bar and gift shop
3:25-4:25pm - Cocktails and gift shop time at Castle & Key

Things to do in Lexington
Explore- Kentucky Horse Park
Celebrating our relationship with the horse since 1978, the Kentucky Horse Park welcomes over one million visitors each year. Owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Park is a treasure to our state and a facility unlike any other in the world.
Catch a Game- UK Wildcats
While you’re in town, soak up a little Big Blue pride. Lexington lives and breathes University of Kentucky athletics — and if you really want to feel it, step inside University of Kentucky Athletics territory and wander through Rupp Arena.
It’s loud, it’s legendary, and on game days it’s pure electricity. Even when the Wildcats aren’t tipping off, you can feel the history in the rafters.
Distillery District
Fortunately, in 2008 local entrepreneurs teamed up to bring this area back to its former glory and they did not disappoint. Since then, this revitalized piece of Lexington history has become a lively downtown destination.
Today, you’ll find two working bourbon distilleries on the historic site. Plus, the easily walkable area combined with its diverse food and drink offerings makes the Distillery District one of Lexington’s most exciting hotspots.

Getting Here by Air
There are three main options for flying in, ranging from "right next door" to "a short scenic drive."
Blue Grass Airport (LEX) – Lexington, KY
Distance: 10 minutes from downtown.
Pro Tip: This is the most convenient option. It’s a beautiful, small airport located right across from Keeneland Race Track.
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) – Hebron, KY
Distance: ~1 hour 15 minutes drive to Lexington.
Pro Tip: Often has more direct flight options and can be more budget-friendly for guests coming from the West Coast or Northeast.
Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) – Louisville, KY
Distance: ~1 hour 10 minutes drive to Lexington.
Pro Tip: Great if you want to spend a morning in Louisville before heading into horse country.
Ground Transportation
Ride Share: Uber and Lyft are both very active in Lexington and service the airport. A ride from LEX to downtown typically costs around $20–$30.
Rental Cars: All major agencies (Hertz, Enterprise, Avis) are located at the LEX terminal. If you fly into CVG or SDF, we highly recommend renting a car for the drive.
Taxis: Available curbside at LEX 24/7.
Private Shuttles: Gold Shield is Lexington’s Exclusive airport service provider. We Service to and from the Lexington, Louisville, and Greater Cincinnati Airports.
